History of Wiregrass International, Inc.

In October of 1984, Wiregrass International, Inc. opened in Abbeville with 6 employees. When the current facility in Headland became available,Wiregrass International relocated 1987 and currently has 23 employees. Wiregrass International was an International Harvester dealership which became Case International in 1986 after Case purchased International Harvester.  They have carried Cub Cadet from the very beginning. In 1987, they added the Mahindra line of tractors and added McCormick in 2002.  In 2013, Mahindra became the primary line of tractors carried by Wiregrass International.  They carry several other brands of products to meet a variety of needs for agriculture, commercial, outdoor and automotive needs.

In 2003, Wiregrass International opened an automotive service center when Bruce Nesiba came on board.  Bruce previously operated Bruce's Service Center in downtown Headland.  At the same time, Wiregrass International became a tire dealer carrying the Goodyear line of tires.  They have since added Kelly and Firestone tires.  This completed an expansion of Wiregrass International to be a complete facility for agriculture, commercial and residential sales and service.  In April 2015, the automotive service was separated into a new Bruce's Service Center wholly owned by Bruce Nesiba while Wiregrass International Inc. continued as an agricultural and commerical sales and service business.

The history of their current location originally began as a Ford dealership in 1976.  When the dealership folded in 1980, L. J. Hardy moved his hardware store to one side and the other was occupied by Headland Tire, later called Hardy's Headland Tire which was operated by Kyle and Jerry Hardy.  After the hardware store was closed, a portion of the facility was occupied by a furniture store which later closed in 1987 opening up the opportunity for Wiregrass International to locate to a more suitable location and facility.  Hardy's Headland Tire was sold in 2001 with that owner closing in 2003.  This opened the door for Wiregrass International to occupy the entire facility and begin to expand.

Over the years, Wiregrass International has expanded it's range of products to include Bob-Cat Turf, Troy-Bilt, Husqvarna, Harvest King Ag Tires, Titan / Goodyear Ag Tires and other brands to meet the needs of their customers.

As opportunities open up, Wiregrass International is poised to meet the needs of Headland, Henry County and Southeast Alabama.  Our growth is a tribute to our loyal customers who we have served and will continue to serve in the future.
