The summer of 2024 is bringing some of this year's most exciting movies, and these, along with some of June's most popular releases, are now playing in theaters. 2023 was a big year for cinema after a couple of tough years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with massive, record-breaking box-office successes and critically acclaimed stories – and, luckily, this good streak continues this year. 2024 also has various highly-anticipated movies coming up, of which some can be currently enjoyed in theaters.
July started strong with the release of the latest installment in the Despicable Me franchise, Ti West's Maxxxine, and the horror movie Longlegs, starring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage. This week, accompanying these and some of June's best releases, such as Inside Out 2 and Bad Boys: Ride or Die, are a standalone sequel to a 1996 disaster film about tornadoes and a paranormal horror movie about revenge.
